It is the season for grilling, hanging out, and spending time outdoors. And if you are one that likes to entertain, well then space is important. For a refresher, clean your wood! Pressure washing can make the BIGGEST difference. We recommend using a wood cleaner in conjunction. Sherwin Williams has a great product called Revive. You apply to your area and let stand for a few minutes, then wash off. Best results are seen when using a pressure washer. Some people like to leave wood as wood and don’t stain or paint. It is recommended that although you may not want to give wood a different color… there are plenty of sealers that have no tint but will protect the longevity of the wood (use them!). If you are wanting to stain your deck, cleaners are still recommended prior to re-application or first application of stain/paint. Removing mold, mildew, and dirt is important for stain/paint to adhere correctly. Make sure NOT to skip this step! There are plenty of cleaning protects, as mentioned above, to use but you can also use bleach mixed with water to create the same effect. Simply cleaning your wood will dramatically brighten and change the look of your outdoor space!
